HONG KONG – Hong Kong athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic will find that prize money at stake has doubled, making gold medal winners eligible to claim up to HK$6 Million in cash prizes. Eric Chan, chief secretary of Hong Kong administration made this announcement Tuesday during a flag-presentation ceremony honoring local competitors participating in Paris Olympic. Additionally, team event cash incentives will increase as well.
There are currently 12 people working at this location. The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize (STIP) honors outstanding Hong Kong researchers or research-related institutions established by Hong Kong higher education institutions within Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area who have made significant advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, life and health sciences, new materials/energy research/production technology/FinTech applications. Annually, five prizes – with one awardee from each field – are distributed. STIP champions the mission of “Boosting Hong Kong and Serving the Country through Technology”, with an eye toward attracting global top science talent, developing pioneering scientists, and making Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology hub.
Medical science experts, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine is inviting applications for its annual competition: the Xplorer Prize 2019-2021. Established by Pony MA – Chairman and CEO of Tencent and founder of Tencent Foundation along with other notable scientists – this initiative seeks to support young medical professionals pursuing research excellence for human welfare purposes.
Academic achievements and research proposals will be considered when selecting applicants. A panel of judges will assess each proposal with particular emphasis placed upon independence, exploration, creativity, and innovation to select a shortlist of finalists who will receive funding. All finalists will then present their ideas to an expert panel at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine for final review and selection.
