hk prize is an annual award created to recognize individuals who advance American exceptionalism, limited government, free markets and civil society principles. Winners receive between $250,000 to $300,000. It is administered by Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation located in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Hk prize has made great strides towards its mission since its conception, but the journey hasn’t come without challenges. Over the years, they’ve worked to secure funding, create partnerships, raise awareness about their cause, as well as developing programs designed to inspire young leaders and continue the legacy.
This competition is open to all Academy Fellows regardless of field of research or career path. Applicants are asked to submit both an original article published in a peer-reviewed journal as well as an abstract (maximum 500 words) about their current research project by 31 August 2024. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2024.
Successful recipients will receive up to HK$500,000 as grants in support of their creative work, arts projects or further studies. Grants are given out on a competitive basis with priority given to applications showing evidence of high quality work with maximum impact potential.
Additionally, the prize will serve to promote the work of winners and their organizations internationally. Winner and runner-up will be honored during a ceremony in Hong Kong in 2022.
This year’s Hong Kong Film Awards Association Ltd (HKFA) jury will consist of twelve professional film workers from Hong Kong – local and overseas professionals alike – chaired by one member. They will select their favourite entries before selecting an overall winner who will be announced at the Hong Kong International Film Festival on 13 December.
As part of its efforts to ensure fairness of draws, HKJC employs safeguards that help ensure its draw is conducted fairly. Employees from its security and customer service departments inspect all materials used regularly for drawing. Balls are measured, weighed and X-rayed before and after every drawing to ensure fairness; furthermore, drawing machines are stored away safely following each draw.
Though these heroes may remain under-recognized, they remain essential in upholding Hong Kong’s spirit and community spirit.
